If you’re looking for a certain model or brand of automobile, you’ll have no problem seeing it among the crowd. As in your personal life, it is much easier to see an opportunity when you are already thinking about it in your work life. As a result, I owe a debt of gratitude to Veronica Rose, CISA, CDPSE, who first introduced me to the world of CISA.
When the epidemic began, many people were laid off and others had to accept salary cutbacks as a result. In my opinion, this was the best moment to start preparing for the future and pursuing my CISA certification goal. CISA is a worldwide recognized certification that focuses on the audit, control, and security of information systems (IS). IT security, audit, risk management, and governance are all areas where this certification is highly regarded.
As someone who has already earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Information Systems, I was eager to expand my auditing skills (IT security, audit, risk management and governance). “Choosing to be at the TOP because the bottom is too crowded” is a remark from my mentor, Veronica Rose, CISA, CDPSE, in her just released book, BEING, which I am now reading.
Knowing that passing the CISA test would take extensive study was not a surprise to me; yet, I remained steadfast in my determination to earn the CISA designation and to do it on my first try, which I accomplished.
In order to pass the CISA certification test, you must have a strong desire to succeed in the field of information security. Do you have a specific goal in mind for obtaining the certification? For me, it’s not just about enhancing my credentials; it’s a continual desire to keep up with the latest developments in my field and better serve my customers.
Prepare for the CISA examination is not a simple task. If you don’t have a strategy or a lot of spare time, it might be difficult to study the subjects in your review course every day. If you’re like the majority of CISA hopefuls, you’re likely a full-time worker who struggles to find the time to study. You’re not alone if you’re finding it difficult to balance work, family, and school obligations. Setting aside enough time and being motivated and determined are the most important factors in preparing for a marathon race.
Being a CISA requires more than just cramming for exams. In order to prepare for the CISA test, it is essential that you study efficiently and successfully. You need to optimize your study time and make the most of your leisure to succeed in school.

Join the ISACA organization.
Be a member of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA). As an ISACA member, you’ll enjoy a wide range of advantages, including access to free and discounted whitepapers, books, webinars, and virtual summits, as well as professional insight tools and assistance. The following groups on ISACA’s Engage platform come highly recommended by me: CISA Exam Prep, SheLeads, CRISC Exam Prep, CISM Exam Prep, CGEIT Exam Prep, COBIT, Information & Cybersecurity, Emerging Technology, Privacy and many more. These materials are absolutely something I’d use. There is a treasure trove of knowledge on information systems audits.
Set a timetable for studying
Maintain discipline in your academic endeavors by planning up a study regimen. As long as you’re comfortable with auditing and IT security, you should be able to sit for the test in three to six months. Are you an early riser or a night owl? You should study at times when your brain is able to comprehend and absorb knowledge properly and efficiently. The time of day does not matter. Make a schedule for your study time and stick to it. Consistency is crucial, so keep this in mind at all times.
Look for CISA test prep classes.
Participate in a CISA review course at a recognized training institution, or take an official CISA online review course. Aspiring CISAs should also familiarize themselves with the CISA Exam Manual. The online CISA Review Questions, Answers & Explanations Database offers 1,000 questions that span all five CISA categories, so you may practice self-assessment every day.
Watching Hemang Doshi’s CISA videos and book summaries, both of which are very simple and powerful, is also highly recommended. This aids your comprehension of the material.
Do more research
Make an extra effort to learn about issues that you don’t quite grasp. The goal of the CISA program is to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of IT auditors in performing system audits. The test isn’t the end of the road; it’s merely the beginning. Instead, the objective is to learn how to put these ideas into practice in a way that is efficient and successful. If you maintain this perspective in mind, you’ll be more dedicated and will have an easier time recalling the things you’ve learned.
